As Promised, I have new photos of my 3 babies, Sprite, Frankie Blue and Skye. I took them yesterday, and it was a difficult attempt due to the fact that they never sit still
First Up: Frankie Blue (He is now 4 weeks old today and such a beautiful baby. He is quite shy but he does seem to like the budgie/human interaction. Yesterday though he wasn't having it )
He decided to close his eyes when I took this picture but I thought it was perfect in trying to get the colour on his chest. He is the same mutation as daddy with the exception that he has a white spot on the back of his head.
In my opinion this picture is super cute, however looking at his cere now I am starting to think that Frankie Blue is a girl but the cere keeps going lighter then darker and so on and so forth. Such a beautiful budgie he turned out to be.
Better capture of the cere. Boy would my hubby be stunned if Frankie turned out to be a girl The brilliant thing is though that the name still works if that is the case
Such a beauty. I love the shade of blue on his chest.
And finally, Frankie's wings. So beautiful. I absolutely love the spangle mutation.
Next Up: Sprite (She is also 4 weeks old today and my sometimes cheeky baby but as of the last couple days that has seemed to have stopped altogether. She does not beg for food as much which is wonderful)
Photo is a little blurry. She turned out to be such a cutie. I love her to death despite her cheekiness and wanting to go everywhere but she likes to cuddle with me still when she wants too. Now Im still uncertain of her sex considering her cere is also constantly changing from light to dark.
Her wings are just gorgeous. I'm hoping the spangle style stays simply because I love the way it looks against the yellow and pale green. I guess we will see what happens after the very first molt.
A much clearer shot of Sprite. Such a cutie.
And Last But Not Least My Cuddle Bug: Skye (He is 3.5 weeks old, his feather growth is a little slower than the other two but he is still filling out quite nicely. I suppose they grow at their own rate. He loves to cuddle with me quite a lot )
He is a super curious budgie baby He too is identical to his father but the only difference between Skye and Frankie which will help me out once they are older is Skye does not have the white spot on the back of his head.
He's not happy unless he is on me somewhere
Skye was impossible to get a lot of pictures because he moves around the most. Being so young I wouldn't want to stay still either
They have come such a long way and I am so proud of the fact that they are weaning at 4 weeks of age. I am incredibly amazed at their healthy growth and no splayed legs which I was incredibly worried about.
I hope you all enjoyed the photos. I love sharing them with all of you
And they keep on getting cuter!
From those pictures, it seems your Frankie is a girl and I'm seeing a deep pinkish colour on the cere of your Sprite, making him a boy.
Your youngest, I can't really tell because he/she makes sure to not look at the camera!
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
