Sprye is on a distinguished road
Unhappy Has anyone seen this before?

I posted in the "emergency room" thread but it doesn't seem that gets frequented very often- so I thought I'd check on here to see if anyone has seen a budgie's eye do this before? It looks like Sprye's right lower-eyelid is drooping, almost like he has had a stroke or something. He is also unusually lethargic as of this afternoon and only wants to sleep. He will eat and drink when presented with food/water. Please let me know if any of you have seen this before and what it is. btw I do have the soonest appt with our avian vet tomorrow afternoon.

thanks!

I can't tell anything about the eye, but the other symptoms certainly warrant a vet visit.

It's very subtle, but here are a couple of pictures of his eye normally. Usually the eye that is visible is the grey ring (or parts of it) and the black pupil. In the photo from my original post you can see in the bottom right corner there is visible black portion of the eye outside of the grey ring. It also appears as if he cannot constrict his pupil ("pinning").

When something is wrong, and the symptoms are only subtle, THAT is the time to get veterinary assistance, especially with budgies and their superior ability to mask illness. Your budgie needs an Avian vet. Sooner, rather than later

I do hope that Sprye is okay - I don't know what it could be either. All you can do is keep a close watch on him and give him lots of cuddles - and of course, keep him warm and all those regular things.

Keep us updated? I am hoping for a "false alarm" verdict - the greatest possible outcome.

Are you back yet from the vet visit with little Sprye? I'm hoping your little guy is OK...
