Default Pinko settling in :)

Pinko's doing really well! He's on my shoulder now as I type Time for yet *another* nap it seems!
He's cautiously curious ,very friendly and strangely, for a new baby, prefers being outside the cage than in. At bed time he'll crawl up my arm to get back outside
He's not really playing with his toys but maybe he doesn't know what they are and how much fun they are yet!
He is also having to learn how to get around cage bars - he was in a glass cage (?) in the store.
They cut his wings when he was a baby and the feathers just grew back in last week. He is so happy! He loves to flap his wings- makes me worry he'll hurt himself!
It may also be for attention? He woke me up at 5:30am with his flapping and came out ready to say hello and explore. Zzzzzz

After only 3 hours of sleep I wasn't too impressed but who can resist the cuteness??

He's been eating so much! Do babies in general eat A LOT while they're growing? His crop is huge by evening!
He was 35g last night but 33 this morning. (I don't obsessively check hehe, but the scales were under the stand in the pic)

Isn't he just adorable!?! Awwww xx

And lastly, eating a little millet from a cute feeder. He shows no interest in the mirror yet!

I hope to get some better photos on my proper camera soon, but it might take a while for him to get used to the big black Nikon monster

Awww Pinko is adorable!!

And yes, babies can seemingly eat all the time. Our new budgie Riley is quite the voracious little eater; it's almost like every time we look at him, he's got his face in the food cups.

Sounds like your little sweety is settling in very nicely! I'm very happy for you!

Glad things are going so well! He's such a cute little guy! I got Pickle when he was really young, too, and I think that helped a lot with bonding - we have a special connection!

Thanks so much everyone! (Sorry I must get to the computer more often, rather than replying on the ipad, I can't seem to reply individually on tapatalk.)
Glad to know Kim that his voracious appetite is normal. I'm trying not to be too paranoid but... it's hard not to be. I'm spring cleaning like mad because I'm scared he'll come across a random Pitchii poop that will make him sick. I am buying all new toys etc. I'm not normal am I ??
How are you doing with your little one?

I had to go out for quite a while Sunday (yesterday) and I thought it would actually be ok for him. Give him quiet time to look around his surroundings and get used to his cage. But oh no! He was so clingy today! I have converted most of my desk in the bedroom to a place for his cage / play area as this room has little furniture (Japanese style, we sleep on the floor). He is not a great flyer yet so I didn't want him in the living room / kitchen. Ohhhh but he's clingy! He was all over me and if I would go as to leave to get breakfast or lunch he would fly (badly) after me or makes sad cries. He interrupted my ESL lessons but was forgiven ;-) So sweet but at the same time hard! Hub had the day off and in the end he had to bring me in lunch. I was Pinko's prisoner!

Today Pinko dug into pellets (wow, good boy !) and tried broccoli , sesame seeds , romaine lettuce and parsley What good boy!

All budgies are lovely..but I feel so thankful to have Pinko who seems perfect for our family. So outgoing and loving. Ready to be part of the family and not sitting lonely in his cage you know?

A friend popped round with organic veggies. Pinko was having dinner with us and tried some
parsley and romaine lettuce

Pinko must be trying to be part of the ESL class too; you've got one wart little budgie there you know!

Our little guy Riley is doing great. He's much more independent now; to get him out of his cage, we usually have to get him to step up a number of times before he will stop hopping off. Aries is coping a little better now I think too. He comes out of his cage on his own again now, which is so nice to see given that he has stopped after the loss of his two flock mates.

Tell Pinko to keep up with exploring and eating those new foods! It can be sooo hard to get them on anything but seed. Good budgie Pinko!

Pinko sounds like he wants to be the center of attention and is succeeding very well. What an adorable little bundle of fluff. He's going to bring you SO much happiness!

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your little guy and seeing lots more pictures as time marches on.

I have a hello and goodbye song that I start and end the kids classes with. He'll hear them A LOT. Even my hub finds himself humming them haha
Being male, I wonder if he'll pick them up?
In the morning I sing him the little preschoolers Good morning song And when it's time for bed I play the wakare no uta song (yikes, must look the name up in English, forgotten!!). He's my baby and my new student. Tee hee!
And since I just ordered another $50 worth of stuff for him online I better go to bed eeek!
xoxo

During a lesson!
