Default Introducing Junior :)

Hello. This is my new budgie, Junior. We have had him for a week, and I am guessing he is about 10-12 weeks old? Maybe less? I was wondering if any of you budgie experts know what mutation he is, and if you have any educated guesses of what his gender may be? I know it is probably too soon to tell, but if you had to guess....? Also, am I correct in estimating his age? Thanks for any help. He is a very sweet bird and is quickly learning to trust us. We just love him.

Such a little cutie! Your age estimate is correct, I can't tell if it's a boy or girl yet, my recessive pied tricked me for the first few weeks I thought it was a boy and ended up being a girl!

So, you think she/he is a recessive pied then? Would we call this a gray factor recessive pied? Really doesnt matter to me...Im not a breeder, but Im just curious as to the official name of his mutation.

yes, a grey recessive pied my Shrimp is a sky blue recessive pied. Their mutation does not get the grey iris' like other mutations, so the eyes will stay black. I love RP's! I think you have a boy but I am no expert. My girl's cere was pink when I got her at Junior's age and now she is 4 months and it is like silver with white rings around the nostrils. You will know for sure within the next couple weeks, unless an expert comes along in the mean time
