Default My Mother's Day gift from my husband

My husband built this today for me for Mother's Day. It sits in the most perfect spot. It's to the left of my swing, my horses are to the right of my swing and my garden is in the front. I can see my chicken coops beyond the house from my swing too. I love it!! It's my 'ahhhhh' spot LOL They have a birdhouse mounted on a driftwood post, a birdbath mounted on a driftwood post and a hanging bird feeder with their seed in it. I am going to put them in some hanging baskets of grass/greens/safe plants for them. I really like it! They seem to love being outside too

It is gorgeous! Love the setting!! Bet the budgies do too!

That YF budgie on the left in the top pic - he/she is the same colour as my li'l Johnny is going. He started out a beautiful YF blue - but has been getting more greenish blue - I like it (but liked the blue better!)

Do you get cold / snow in winter?

Thanks. That one is our 'meanie' LOL She packs a mean bite and doesn't really take to human socialization. She is pretty tho. We get snow like once every 10 yrs here and it's a 10 minute flurry. It get's down into the 30's in the winter some days but we don't have harsh winters. I have been wondering what to do when it comes back to winter. My husband suggested heat lamps like the Zoo had and possibly covering the aviary with plastic. IDK... I probably will bring them back inside in our indoor cage if it gets cold.

We don't get snow - but, it does get down into the minus degrees celcius in winter - and I only have 2 outside budgies, so they come in when we have bad weather, including storms, because we can get mini cyclones and it's horrible if you're a bird out in that!!

I'd be worried about fires with lights - BUT, it is a great idea and your husbands right - zoo's use them! (I have a bit of OCD and a very active imagination)

What a wonderful gift!

Your little budgies look very happy in their new home.

How do you get in and out without them escaping?
