I haven't posted any pics for a while of my flock: Cato and Austin, their four chicks (now all around 9 weeks old) and Duke. (I did a breeding journal - here's the link if you're interested: https://talkbudgies.com/showthread.php?t=148178
Austin's in solitary confinement (after attacking her eldest chick), and to make matters worse, she's moulting. Poor girl! But she enjoys being let out of her cage and watching what's going on outside.
Note the beauty spot below her beak.
Her cere doesn't know whether it's coming or going either.
Here's Cato in an unusually docile state. He'd obviously worn himself out warbling at everything. When he's all fluffed up, it does make me wonder if there's a bit of English in him...
Here's Duke. He's in a separate cage to all the others. When I bought him, his tail was short and all nibbled; since he's had his own space, it's grown back. He's such a happy bird, head-bobbing at his toys, his mirror and at thin air.
A rare photo of Cato with all four of his babies (L-R: Cato, Iggy, Harley, George, Frankie). The babies will all be rehomed within the next couple of weeks...
Frankie and George: inseparable brothers. They're being rehomed together (as are Harley and Iggy).
Iggy, George and Harley. Harley's the biggest chatterbox of all the clutch!
Iggy being a bat. She's the youngest and the only female in the clutch (I think). She's well and truly Miss Independent already!
I gave the birds a special treat today: an ear of corn. They'd never had it before and I didn't know if they'd like it or not. It took them a few hours to find it; but once they did, that was it. They enjoyed playing with the leaves more than eating the corn!
A quick scratch...
Frankie doing the splits.
