lol was funny as his last owner said he's not really one for PDA...was cute lol though i awoke thismorning and check on the birds like i always do, and all her feathers have fallen out of her left wing :-O cant even find the feathers -__- i think this wont effect breeding, but i think its a good indication she had/has mite as i sprayed her when i got home yesterday -__- (hear we go again!) she cant fly any more for now, but im not worried or discouraged, she is still happy and bubbly! she also has a nice personality as i removed her to my shoulder why i made a coffee and she stayed no worries (we were standing facing the sun teehee) so still all systems go ^_^ very hopeful with this pair at the moment, especially when i put her back in the cage and she waltzed right over to Dicky and headbumped him teehee!

Did you not quarantine her?

How old is she?

I would check her wing over and check for any signs of blood etc as her wing feathers should not fall out like that. I would also advise against using any form of mite spray around birds as some brands have been known to kill birds due to the fumes, your better off using Ivermectin and placing one drop directly onto the back of the bird.

thankyou, and yes, they both are in quarantine, and yes i know about the fumes, its why i do the spray completely outside in the open and leave them out in the fresh air for an hour :-/ sorry if that was wrong was only doing what was common here :-( we did manage to find ONE feather so i could look at it, nothing sus there normal feather, no blood not holes, i dare hazard a guess that its malt and i just didn't notice the other flights gone, as in she was too busy with her new beau to stretch her wings when i was around but she was flying yesterday as i do like to see them have a big stretch when i bring them home (safely ofcourse, not new to birds at all, just new to breeding), she's about 13/14 months :-)
