Thank you Aluz ... everybody handles him, everybody talks to him, everybody gives him millet by hand. I'm still the primary person in his little eyes tho. If he flies around and lands somewhere awkward I can put my hand down and say 'step up Freddy' and he comes right to me and leaps onto my hand. It's just such a massive pleasure to see him warming up
It looks like Fred has really become a member of your family! It's so cute that he can just climb all over the kids and not be nervous at all. Your boy doesn't seem to be bothered by him at all either.
Fred has been here for two weeks now. He was handled quite a bit as a baby but still very freaked out when he came here. I've just been patient and followed his lead and just this weekend he's gotten very curious about everything. Today he's been in and out of his cage about a dozen times. I mostly let him decide when and how he wants to do things and give him a lot of happy praise. I wrote a bit about what I've done with him on a thread in the training and bonding section. I'm so glad I've been able to read this forum and get great advice, it's helped immensely.
The kids just love him too, he's a funny dude We had two sad loses before Fred came and I wasn't sure they would take to him, being upset about the other two, but they really do enjoy him.
Two weeks? That's incredible! I'll have to read your thread in the training and bonding section.
It's so nice that Fred gets along with everybody in your family. My budgie, Angel, hasn't really bonded with anyone but me yet.
