Happy 1st homecoming, Leonel!
It makes one year today since I first brought my precious boy Leonel home.
Since day one he has been a joy to have and was my easiest bird to tame, it's like he was tamed and fully trusting from the get-go, despite not being hand raised (bought him at a bird fair). After a few month's training he started to say his first words and I was thrilled, he still says them but not as often since he is part of a flock and has a mate.
Here is my Leonel the day I got him 1 year ago
A somewhat older Leonel offering love and support to baby Khaleesi on the day she was attacked by her parents and I had to pull her out for handfeeding.
How sweet is that?
Sadly he no longer gets along with Khaleesi, HE, a budgie started to bully Khaleesi, a lovebird even to the point of plucking a few feathers on her head and I had to put a stop to their shared play time. He got mean to her after I paired him up with Peppy. Khaleesi never fought back.
And here he is now, I took these photos today for his one year anniversary. You can see how much he has changed. I finally got pictures that truly capture the yellow on him.
The white patches he had are now mostly yellow too, there is some sea foam green but I'm happy he kept some of his natural sky blue colour.
