But not the way you think
Since Vinny has been pacing and not settled, I opted to give him a little out of cage time today. We went to the bathroom, where I covered the taps with a towel (no crash hazard), then I lifted the top off of his QT cage. Didn't take him long to fly out. He's VERY good at flying - didn't crash once. He is lightly clipped so still very agile in the air. I let him do his thing, he seemed to really enjoy himself
Sorry about the flash on the photos, I really must replace my broken flash gun!
He landed on the towels
He sat on the window for a bit
He generally had a good ol' flap and then landed in the tub like a duck on a lake (helped along by his giant feet, no doubt). I leaned in and offered him my finger and after a bit of tippy-tappy to and froing, hey ho, just like that
I think that's a bit of spinach stuck to his chest, he clearly wasn't ready for a photoshoot!
He flew around a bit more then landed on the towel rail again. This time, he let my daughter offer a finger for him to sit on
I watched carefully for signs of stress or panic, but there were none. He did a good few laps of the room but never seemed to be super scared. We kept it to a short 5 minute session, just to be sure he wasn't going to get upset.
He stepped from my daughter back to the towel rail, from there back to my finger and then let me put him back in his cage, having already reattached the top after he flew out.
I'm really rather surprised - pleasantly so
