We had a long trip yesterday to pick up our new puppy(6 hours)so we are all exhausted today after his first night at home --he was amazingly good!Final name choice is Jax,and he is an absolutely adorable little boy.I managed also to get a couple of the budgies in their cage and I was hoping someone could confirm if Nicky is a boy or girl. They really love each other whichever way it turns out, lol. Will try and get some [more pics of the budgies soon.
Your puppy is adorable!
You probably already know this, but your grey budgie is definitely a boy, and your young budgie, Nicky, looks like a girl from the angle. Of course, a picture of the nose from the front would help me verify this. BTW, Nicky is gorgeous, and I am jealous of her beautiful feathers! (:
If you want to know how to tell your birds' gender on your own (and feel like a genius, lol) then just remember this:
Pink and Blue= Masculine
White and Brown= Feminine
So a baby female budgie's cere (nose) will be white or light purple, edged with light blue, and an adult female budgie's cere would be dark brown.
A baby male budgie's cere will be pink, and will sometimes and unconditionally have purpley capillaries around the edges.
An adult male budgie will have a bright blue cere, or, depending on the coloration mutations of the bird (a whole 'nother mess of info), will stay pink forever.
Aww such a cute puppy with the cute boy birdies!. Congratz!
