Default They live together now!

Nimbus (blue and white) and Blizzard (white) had a few soft introductions and today I took the cage apart, rearranged it and moved the ladies in together.
Nimbus is a bit of a butt about it, she obviously wants to be the bird in charge. Blizzard is thrilled and keeps wanting to sit with Nimbus haha.
Here's hoping this new arrangement can stay as is and the ladies can live together permanently.
Nimbus is still NOT TAME at all and Blizzard is semi-tame, she steps up usually on command unless she doesn't want too.
I plan on getting a small tent so they can be out in a close vicinity to me and hopefully both warm up with me more.

I'm musing at the thought of getting a male for the girls to flirt with in the near future.
Anyone know of a breeder who starts hand-taming and can ship to Colorado, I'd love some advice.
I love my 2 rescues but I am highly debating a breeder for my 3rd bird. Maybe a green guy or something. <3

Nimbus and Blizzard are adorable and I hope it works out so they are able to live together.

I would recommend that if you plan to get a male you get two -- an even ratio of males to females generally works out much better. One male and two females is not such a good choice. Females are generally more aggressive. They will either both pick on the male or may fight with each other (and him) as they both will want to be his girl.

Additionally, with three budgies, one is generally left out as two will bond more closely.

Well now I have a reason to get 2 budgies.
When 2 more appear in my house I can blame you right? haha.
Thanks for the idea, The cage is big enough for 4 but I'd probably get a bigger one on wheels so I can roll it onto the porch on nice days.

Sure, you are more than welcome to "blame" me when you get two new budgies.

Strange, I'm not usually considered an "enabler".

Getting a flight cage that you can roll onto your porch will be great.
Please be very careful that all the doors are safely secured when you do so --
many budgies have escaped from their cages due to doors coming open unexpectedly.

Oh yes, I'll make sure the doors are secure, this current cage the doors clip shut since it's a modified rat cage but my smaller cage I'd tie the doors shut before taking the bird outside with it. Both these girls were from rescues, both found outside as "strays" and my goal is to keep them warm and safe forever (Colorado winters/springs can be harsh, we just got snow a again a few days ago).

I'm easy to enable when it comes to birds, I'd have a bazillion different species if i could haha.

Very cool mazz...your girls are beautiful and I hope they continue to get along well. If you do decide to get a couple boys, check out the prevue F040 or F050 cages....nice cages for a good price...

I'm glad their introduction went okay, hopefully Nimbus warms up more to Blizzard soon and they will be able to live together in harmony.
