Today, June 16th 2014 my sweet budgie girl Dinda turns 2 years old. I can still remember well that day, Mona and Tito's 3rd and final clutch. Just a day before, I had rescued a starving blue masked lovebird (Penguin) from the world outside and I'm very fortunate to still have their company 2 years later.
Here are some baby pics of Dinda and her clutch brother Robin.
They almost looked like twins, except for the fact that Dinda is a visual opaline and her brother is not. They hatched only one day apart, Dinda being the oldest.
Here Dinda was exactly 4 weeks old at the pinnacle of cuteness.
These pics I took over this passed weekend to mark the happy occasion. Carioca is not included due to a minor injury suffered after a recent night fright.

Another family portrait. Mona may just be an ordinary cobalt budgie, but to me she is a real beauty. She is hands down the best birdie momma I have ever had during all these years and her temperament and placidity have to be praised, too.
Mona successfully raised a total of 13 chicks. She had 5 chicks with Tito, of which I kept Tito Junior and Dinda, and 8 chicks with her current mate, Carioca of which I also kept 2, Peppy and Luigi.

The almost twin half brothers, can you spot the differences?

I wonder what he's thinking...

Isn't she a cutie!
My girl Penguin also needs to shine a little on the spotline, she also reached an important milestone yesterday and the whole flock got her favourite veggie treat (collard greens leaves and stems) to celebrate her 2 years of being rescued. Today the flock of 13 will be offered carrot, Dinda's favourite.
You can see Penguin is very proudly wearing her first prize ribbon!
