Cool Bob and DeeDee

I bought 2 more budgies (they were on auction) for 9 each!

so i got them home, then noticed they were a pair.....male and female (in the dark lighting i thought 2 females)

so here they are. help with mutation would be good too please

the male is called Bob. suits him cause he head bobs a lot haha. (his cere is dark because he bashed it a little in transport and is turning back to normal color)

Bob.

DeeDee is the female, because i name all my pairs and couldn't think of a suitable female name to go with bob, i chose DeeDee. shes got quite a personality on her.
i know shes a blue.....and thats about it haha

heres them both together:

Congrats on your gorgeous new pair! Even I would get two English budgies for that price if I had the opportunity!
I think your Bob is a normal grey budgie and DeeDee is a sky blue normal.

EDIT: Now that I took a better look at Bob, I noticed the markings on the wings are lighter in colour, so it's possible he could be cinnamon too.

compared next to deedee, his wings are very light, i was originally thinking cin too, but didnt want to be wrong haha, i think there a proven pair too, they are well bonded. they both have a blue leg ring with 11 on them, so im guessing 2011 birds....which makes them about 3 years old....they are both very scared of my camera but i will try and get a better pic of bobs wings......probably with flash and without

More pics are always welcome and much appreciated here!
Will you be considering breeding them in the near future? I'm sure you'd get stunningly beautiful chicks from them!

yep, i have put a breeding box on just to see if they will use it, so far none of my budgies have been interested in them ): they are showing signs of breeding already, with head bobbing and preening etc. however....they dont like going to the bottom of their cage....

Aww, that picture of them snuggling in together is so precious! It is clear they have a good bond and it's quite possible they had previous clutches in the past.

They will most likely start to explore all corners of the cage once they get more settled in. Since you are wanting to breed them, it's best you put them already on a good diet in preparation for what will lies ahead. From those pictures they seem to be in pretty good shape for the task.

yep, both blue leg rings

they are on special budgie 2.
will be making some egg mix at weekend, they have a mineral block and cuttle fish in, also millet, all they need is golden lining haha there in a leberta cage.....a big one haha

the breeding box is stacked on top of xbox game cases atm, dont know how to attach it steadily on, and the door is held open with a hair grip....cuttle fish is held by a peg.....but is also in a dish haha.

This will most likely be her last breeding season then as she's getting a bit on in years boys can go longer

Attaching the breeding box is one of my pet peeves lol I ended using a combination of holes drilled in the front and wiring it onto the cage and screw hooks
