In March, my other half's sister got married (much travelling), I started a new job, and life's general stuff got a bit much. So I had to take a break from most of my internet shenanigans. I missed everyone here, and now my keel is even again I'm glad to be back
I haven't loads of pictures to share, what with all the goings on, but here's a few. Obviously taken before Herb had a massive moult and then took ill. The kids spent a lot of time working with the boys and did a brill job. Makes me feel a bit teary looking at them but hopefully he will pull through.
So here you go - I hope you like them
We are all missing Herb's antics and hoping we can take more photos like these really soon.
Those pictures just melted my heart, you really captured so many precious moments.
I love that second pic of your daughter with Herb, the third one is really special, too!
It's good to have you back to the forums and I'm wishing your Herb a steady and full recovery.
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
Thank you Aluz. Looking through them this morning made me feel a bit wobbly. If I lose Herb it will hurt a lot.
I tried to separate them so Herb could stay in a hospital cage but they stressed out so much I gave up. Today I'm trying again. Herb's not amused. Fred is shouting to him, and Herb is shouting back - first time I've heard his voice in a while. But he's staying in there with a heated wheat bag and he can lump it. He's had his first dose of Doxy and Kaogel. He's covered on three sides but he can see Fred from where he is so hopefully he'll settle.
I have to work today. It'll be a long 6 hours away from him
I love these pictures, you really captured their personalities and the love between Fred and Herb and your kids. We have had a horrific time of things going wrong in the aviary this year with illness, losses, injuries and escapes. So I know what you're going through right now. I wish with all my heart that Herb pulls through but either way I'm here for you
