Default Budgie Newb first post :)

hi all just posting up my two new birds. First time I've had my own so very excited to be researching all i can on them and hopefully having a great experience for me and the birds as i try to train them up and breed in the future if they take to each other.

I've kept a few birds in the past but these will be the first i'll have trained and bred from if all goes to plan.

bought from a respectful breeder these two were in a group of young birds he was selling due to not having the desired traits for his breeding plans. Although i loved these two as soon as i saw them and promptly payed the man.

Its there first day in a new cage away from the manic group they had grown up in. males and females had bee kept apart so this was the first time they had met each other and instantly snuggled up together, i think they'll form a good bond with each other

The Green is a male and the blues a female i have been assured. Time to think up a couple of names!

Male was very mellow and sat on my finger without any fuss at all when i transfered him to this cage. As apposed to the female ..... well that was a fuss and a half ... she squarked like a nutter and proceeded to bite me until i bled. Poor thing didnt like the car journey and stress of it all . Although, she has calmed down after a night to relax.

I guess my first question is can anyone help me to identify these two? mutations and such, would be nice just to have it all noted down and satisfy my interest More pics can be provided if need be thats no problem.

I look forward to learning more about these two and the training process to come. the male seems from first contact that he wont be a problem... female however, well i think im in for a long journey of patience with her hahaha.

Welcome to Talk Budgies! You will find all you need to know on budgie care here.
Congrats on your gorgeous new pair of budgies! I can take a guess at their colour mutations. The young female is a sky blue (possibly also violet) opaline budgie. Your male is a dark green normal budgie.
Best of luck with them both!

Thanks again for the welcomes today i managed to sneek my hand inside the cage without the slightest sign of fuss from either of the two both easily stepped up on to my finger and had a sit and a look at me.
After i had my palm open and both curious birds came over and decide to rest on my hand so nice first 5mins of good contact. I decided to leave it there for the day and end it on a high by giving them both a treat and letting them continue their afternoon.

Seems like after a bit of time to calm themselves the females going to be as friendly as the male is

I've decided these two will be called Cyan and Loden.
