Default joy and jacks

Meet joy and jacks. I got told when I bought them they were a mated breeding pair. I have had them for over a month and no signs of breeding yet. Just wondering if anyone of you'd could tell me the approximent age of my 2 beauties. Not tamed yet. Working on that part. Its much harder with 2 birds in one cage. Don't wanna separate them in case one dies.

Your female (blue budgie) appears to be an adult, I can see the already fully developed irises on her eyes. Your male is at the very least 6 months old, from that pic I can't see its eyes, so that's as far as my guess goes.
Your female is currently out of breeding condition. For responsibly breeding a pair one must do a lot of research into the subject. The budgies need to be on a special breeding diet in preparation for what lies ahead, all the necessary requirements must be met before putting the nest box on the cage and allow them to breed. The birds need to both be in top physical health and in breeding condition.
You only have them for a month, there is plenty of time for you to get to know them and everything on general budgie care before allowing them to mate and raise a family.
Do read the stickies here at the forums for all the valuable info, pay special attention to the Diet and Nutrition, Training and Bonding and Breeding sections of the forums.
And welcome to Talk Budgies!

I'm sorry I came off wrong. I don't want them breeding yet. I don't know enough about budgies to even begin to think about breeding them. However could I separate them? Or would that cause them to much stress?
