Default Opal showing her true colors

The sun was coming through the window and Opal looked so beautiful with all the subtle nuances of the gemstone she was named for. Every color a budgie can have in one little girl - violet, grey, blue, yellow, green and lovely 'washes' of those colors when one overlaps the next. I thought I would share:

She is so pretty!
Is that her final form? I mean, has she gone through her baby moult yet?

Hi Alisha, I'm pretty sure she's gone through her baby moult, but I don't know if this is her 'final form'. I read that certain Yellow Face mutations continue to change through each molt and I believe she is a YF and that's why there are green feathers in the various shades of blue and grays and violets.
It's definitely going to be interesting.

Thanks Susan! She DOES look like a painting, doesn't she??? I didn't think of that until you mentioned it.

The name you gave this beautiful girl is perfect for her!
She does indeed have the wonderful characteristics of an Opal and I adore her coloring.

Thanks for sharing the great pictures with us.
