Hello everyone!
It's been about two weeks now and Hector has been doing well in our household. I let him join Candy and Tony early because, well, because.
Anywho, Hector is still a quiet little fellow. He has a beautiful disposition and a great puffy head! His color is stunning and I love having him.
He hasn't really bothered the cockatiels and they have been a bit ignorant of him as well except from an occasional flock call they utter to each other. They did share the millet and that went well.
Hector LOVES millet, and seems to be a seed junkie He also showed a bit of interest in a bell I bought for him. Generally, he just loves to perch and observe the world. I have a feeling he is an older bird, and the shop wasn't well informed of the budgies they got from the breeder. That is fine with me, as long as he is healthy.
Hector likes to hang out with Candy and Tony on top of their cage but goes to sleep in his own little cage at night. He has done a few laps around the living room every now and then.
He is a quiet little guy, but I have managed to easily get him out of the cage for the purpose of bathing him. He is not as flighty and hyper as American budgies can be. He is not tame yet, but not terribly scared of humans either. Hector likes when I talk to him.
Anyway, here are some new pictures of my handsome guy
Hola y mucho gusto, Senior Hector! He sure looks like a Hector with that thick, macho beard and should be quite a ladies' man.
I can just imagine him speaking with an Antonio Banderas Spanish accent "Hola seņorita, mi llamo Hector Grande!"
