Just wanted to share a few pics. My new girl Freckles is doing great! She is very friendly for having her such a short time and has made herself at home here. I think she's very young and maybe she's comfortable hearing another bird here She is eating millet from my hand already and yesterday she decided to explore outside her cage She can't fly for anything right now because the store really chopped her wings but she still was interested in coming out.
One pic is of her thinking about coming out. Then she just took a leap of faith, lol! She got very close to me but would not go for the millet outside the cage. She's such a doll. But she really has to rely on me outside the cage for now. Hopefully, it will help at least tame her more easily
actually hes eating from my hand so far. My daughters are all grown up and on their own now. My 10 year old grandson lives with me and he also has Peety eating millet as well. We just keep placing our hands in the cage off and on throughout the day for quick slow training sessions. Its hard to be patient but Im sure it will pay off in the long run. My guy is about 6 months old and was already in at least 2 homes so I dont know what hes been through already really.
anyway Freckles is doing GREAT. Good Job!

Petey sounds great too. Especially considering he's a bit older and has had other homes. Doesn't sound like he had any bad experience with people so far otherwise he wouldn't be eating from your hand already. Sometimes that could take months! He's off to a very good start!
