Default Help with color?

I've been trying to figure out what color my female Quince is. She's about 8 or 9 months old and I'm thinking cobalt clearflight pied? She has a tiny white patch on the back of her head, and also a little bit of white on the sides of the bottom of her breast near her legs. This is her sitting on my MacBook power cord. She hops up on it and waits for me to push her "swing." (Her cage-mate is my profile pic.) Thanks for any help - I'm just curious!

Can you post a picture of her chest/belly? She could be clearflight pied or dominant pied. Dominant pied has a band across the chest, but the position of the band can vary.

I think she's cobalt. But her color is so vibrant it's possible she's violet, too.

She's lovely!

I actually used that website to try to figure out her color - it's very helpful. I'm a biologist who took some genetics in college (years ago!) and am fascinated by all the mutations in budgies. I wondered about the dominant pied, too, but the white on her belly is very sparse. This shows it pretty clearly. (That's a sprout hanging off her beak.)

Thank you for the photo. Again, she is quite lovely.

I'm not a color or mutations expert, but I am leaning towards sky blue violet dominant pied. Her coloring appears to be too dark for sky blue and too light for cobalt. And the clear splotch on her belly appears to be part of a band -- indicating dominant pied.

I am glad you're feeding her sprouts.

I would say a dominant pied cobalt. We need to have a contest of "guess the budgies mutation"

Thanks for the input. I wondered if she was a dominant pied, also, with just a weak white band on her. Whatever color she is, she's a very sweet, mellow bird and a good counter-balance to her macho, head-bobbing, toy-terrorizing, constantly chattering cage mate (Sprite, the recessive pied fellow on my avatar picture). Funniest thing is, when they're out of the cage, she's the brave explorer and he's the timid one, and he always waits for her to check things out (like sitting on my shoulder) before he decides it's safe. And yes, they LOVE sprouts and get them and some fresh fruit and greens every day.
