In time they will. You have made good progress with them. Keep working on stepping up...
Thanks for the support, Randy. Elsa eats spray millet from an extended branch, let's me touch her feet, cere, and beak, as well as stepping up halfway. We're sort of stuck that way. Gilbert is a little less skittish and I've been able to touch his tail feathers and his feet briefly.
How lovely to see Elsa and Gilbert enjoying their out of cage time together!
Maybe it would be easier to get them back into the cage by using one of their favourite perches for them to step up, and then you can carefully lead them inside.
Another way is to attach a perch on the outside part of the cage and near the door, they will most likely go for the perch and will go inside the cage on their own if the door is open.
