Ok everyone, I hope you are ready cuz I have compiled a bunch of photos that I have been meaning to post the last few days, but since my laptop crashed two three days ago I have been waiting to use my hubby's laptop. So Here They Are. The two oldest ones are 10 days old and the youngest is 6 days old and just starting to get his tiny feathers in. They are so adorable. I must apologize though, some of the pictures turned out blurry, it's really hard to take photos of babies who are really excited to learn how to use their feet
This photo is my favourite So this just randomly happened last night. Cloud got out and he landed on the floor by the tv stand, this bird is really good at flight and landing. Its amazing. Apollo got really excited so he flew down to greet Cloud, the two of them are now friends. I had to lock up my cats last night for a bit
I hope you all enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. My phone is so overloaded with baby budgie photos is almost on the verge of insanity. I just can't help myself my birdies are SO CUTE!
The babies are growing just perfectly. No splayed legs which I am so happy about. It was one of those things I was really worried about. I bring them out for careful handling to check everything from bone growth in the legs, growth of the feet, the amount they are being fed, checking their beaks for undershot growth but that's all good, checking the eyes and cere and feather production. They get a full complete look over every single day. Their grip is perfect as they are clenching their toes on my finger. Growth is healthy and on schedule.
Aww, they are adorable So the cats don't bother the birds?
Not overly. There are days where the cats watch the cages like a hawk but they get a swat. Gemini is the worst for it. Since the babies have been born Gemini has been watching the cage but he gets a swat. I have to watch the cats still and if they do get too close or get that look in their eyes they get locked up in our bedroom if the birds do want to come out and play. Apollo is bad for not staying on his cage but I watch him VERY CLOSELY. But since I have had my budgies I have only had one really bad situation and it wasn't even my cats, it was a roommates cat... go figure. Our cats are pretty well behaved and they understand that the birds are not for eating. But I still keep an eye on everything cuz all it takes is just one minute for something bad to happen.
