Default Hector the detector

Hehe. I brought him to the kitchen to hang out with me while I was preparing food.
And then, he shared dinner with his best buddy, Tony. So he thinks
This little guy has sure made himself at home quickly He has only been in our house two months now.

Kristen,
Yes, Hector is a big boy, lol! He also knows how to fend for himself. At first, Tony wasn't really happy when Hector wanted to eat right next to him, and he tried to "beak" him off. Hector, however, stood his ground and didn't budge. So, they ate together for the rest of the evening, lol.
Hector is a very pretty bird. He has the funniest waddle though. It reminds me of a little ducky. His legs are tiny tad splayed I think, so he has them spread apart a little more than an average budgie. He is definitely a boy, as we caught him a few times trying to mate with a fleece jacket LOL.
Anywhooo, I couldn't be happier with the little fellow. He is so different than the American budgies I used to have. He is quiet and docile, and is easily handled.

It has been a real joy to see this whole thing unfold for you and your family Dee...I never doubted you would find your english experience to be different, and you obviously found an above average one to boot, in Hector...

Oh that is priceless Dee Hector looks like he is not going to give up that food for anyone. English budgies are definitely more relaxed, I wonder how that came about?

Hector is so cute! I didn't know that tiels and budgies could live together in the same cage. Thanks for teaching me something new.

They can, although it depends on the personality of the birds involved. Maybe I just got lucky with Hector; I call him my green cockatiel, lol. He is so similar to them.
I need to post a picture of their bedtime; it's so funny how they always perch on the same spot and everyone knows where to go, lol.

That's awesome, it's like Hector has been part of the flock for ages! I'm glad he also gets along with Tony and Candy.
