Default Big bird swing

I got Jakob a new swing on Saturday. A big swing. I hung it up and picked her up on my finger so she could have a look. Still sitting on my finger she started nibbling on the strings straight away. After a little while she jumped over on the swing.

She needs help getting up on the swing most of the time, but she did manage once on her own by landing on the top and climbing down. It's up quite high as you can see in the picture, but she seems to love it! Whenever she wants a helping hand, she'll just give a little peep and look up

She is so pretty! And that is a lovely swing too, overlooking a huge millet chunk

Funny thing is she won't touch the millet! She's started eating eggfood though, but still a picky eater. Her seed mix has dried veggies and berries. She picks them up, carries them to the edge, and drops them on the floor!

Jakob looks quite beautiful and happy on her new swing!

To be safe, I'd suggest you trim the fringe on the rope down to now more than 1/2" long.
Budgies can easily get their little toes and feet caught in fringe that is longer and could be severely injured.

I know that you want to ensure Jakob is as safe as possible when she's playing with her lovely new swing!

I'll trim that before I let her out tomorrow. I'd never want her to injure herself. She's asleep now, probably dreaming about all the colors

I love a big bird swing for a budgie. I am sure he will get to flying to it spot on with practice

Deb, thank you for mentioning this. In addition, budgies have been known to hang themselves in long fringe while playing with it.

I'm glad that Derikson will trim it.

Your budgie hen looks adorable on the swing!
