Default Is that millet I see?

That crease on Harry's belly... is that because he's too fat, or too thin, or is it normal? He can eat as much as he wants, but he flies around a lot and is quite active.

That crease usually means there's a little bit too much fat around the keel bone, causing it to make "cleavage"
He looks pretty healthy and not necessarily obese, so he may be just a little bit overweight and the position his feathers are in contribute to the rest. What does he eat daily?

He has a dish of pellets (which are 3 kinds mixed together) and another dish with Nutri-berries, and I put a vegetable in every day (carrots, greens, squash, whatever's in the fridge...) He prefers the Nutri-berries over the pellets, but he eats everything, and because he throws so much of his food onto the floor I can't really tell how much he eats. You think he is maybe a bit fat?

Just based on his diet and amount of exercise, I don't think he should be a little chunky, maybe he just eats too much But, yes, I think that he may be a little overweight based on that crease, which usually is an indicator. If you gently pick him up, can you feel his keel bone?

I should have mentioned he also sometimes eats a lot a millet because of clicker training (he's pretty retarded, but he is slowly understanding 'stay' and 'come here'.) Maybe I should cut back on that.

I don't want a Fat Harry. I could weigh him, I have a scale, but it's hard to know what weight is ideal.

Trying to pick up Harry and feel his keel bone would probably take 4 or 5 people, he is not a big fan of being held... but I'll try.

If he is a bit chunky from lots of millet, maybe he's a genius: he gets to keep "learning" for his millet reward!

Harry should weigh around 40 grams (unless he's an English budgie which is probably more but he looks more like a bush budgie).

Oh great, I'm officially stupider than my bird. Dammit, Harry.

I'm going to try to get him on the scale today.

To me your boy appears to have an healthy (and acceptable) amount of weight. He's gorgeous, by the way.

Aw, Harry says thanks. My kitchen scale says he weighs 35 grams.
