Considering the time of the year, we just had a beautiful warm morning (now overcast and horrid). I decided to take little Skye out to see the great big world (after checking a sticky on here to make sure it was safe to do so).

Here's some pictures from Skye's first trip outside.

Skye, welcome to the garden!

Skye is curious...

Skye is also sleepy....

Also, while I'm making this post, I'm in the room with Skye who is having out of cage time. He flew over on top of the laptop screen, tried to eat the screen, then flew down onto the keyboard which, you know, I was kinda using. Considering I haven't tamed Skye at all, or even been able to offer him a treat of millet from my hand (he does not go for the stuff), I was pretty chuffed he came to check out the internet!

And, as I edited my post because one picture wasn't working, Skye came back to oversee.

Sorry Skye, it isn't touch screen!

Skye shows me what i did wrong and how to edit the page correctly.

Skye looks on as a scroll through the post and is shocked at the beautiful budgie he sees!

I'm glad your Skye got to enjoy the morning sun for a while, he certainly looks quite happy and comfy, even took a little nap!
Judging by his natural curiosity in checking out the laptop and being near you, you may want to consider taking advantage and begin to train him.

On that 3rd picture, I notice some yellowish crustiness on the bottom of your Skye's cere. Did you have a good check on it? It seems he could have mites, there. If you still have some of the mite product you used for Jimmy, maybe it would be a good idea to apply it on Skye too.

I did notice it in the picture too and was curious. checking back on earlier pictures when I first got him, he also had some dry, crustiness then too but only very slightly, so it wasn't obvious, like Jimmy was. I'll give him a treatment just to be safe as I got a second pack when I bought jimmy's originally.

As for training Skye. I'm pleased he's progressed to coming over when out of the cage. I have been following the bonding steps while he's in his cage with putting my hands on the cage. He's still rather cautious so I haven't been able to get a step up yet but we are making progress.

I decide after going back and looking at some of my 'new' Skye pictures and comparing them, the crusty quality looks like it may have spread a little, so I decided to treat Skye.
He was so good! He jumped straight in his cage when I held it up and he escaped before I got a chance to catch him (OMG, the treatment stuff is *so* hard to open) but he jumped straight back in when I held his cage to him again. I treated him and he was honestly not that happy about it but once I released him he sat here a moment. He might have been giving me the stink eye. I left him to go and clean out his cage and got him to go in the emergency cage (a crappy little one on stand by for any vet or separating emergencies). Once everything was clean, I opened the cage and he popped right into his regular cage and is not having some food after all the excitement of the day.

Hopefully, that's that nipped in the bud.

Skye is such a cutie and one of my very favorite budgies on the forum.
Every time I see a picture of him it makes me smile.

I absolutely adore pictures #2 and #3.

Glad you've given Skye the treatment for Scaly Mites and that he was such a good boy going back in his cage.

The pictures of him helping you edit your post on the laptop are really sweet.

Skye says thank you. He's blushing quite fiercely as I read this to him.
I'm actually so glad so many of these pictures came out well as I couldn't see a thing on my phone screen with the glare from outside so was just hoping for the best with them.

Currently, he's having some time out of his cage as he wanted to come out again so as I'd been a meanie to him, I thought I best let him.

Aww, Skye has such a darling and inquisitive face! I love seeing all his mod shots and I hope his case of SFM goes away soon
