I thought I should give you a tour of the budgie hotel.
The budgie set up take up about three quarters of one wall in my room.
Here you can see the ladder that I just recently got for the guys. They have't used it much yet and it may be moved in the future. There would have been a time when I wouldn't have bought this seeing as it's clearly bigger than they need but the budgies insist on sitting on the curtain rail for hours so I figure they can have this and it's a nice thing to chew on as well. There's also a huge swing (I got this online believing it to be budgie sized...) and you can also see rope perches for when the guys are out of the cage (as I won't have them in the cage) and some toys to play with when they are out as well.
This cage is also where I tend to keep all their food pots so that there's less mess where they have their food.
On top of the cage there are a couple of play gyms for them, one my dad made and one I bought. On the right you can see Skye on a strip of shredder roll. I've looped this around the cage in various places and this bit goes up to above the wardrobes and is tied on to the emergency budgie cage for any isolation or vets visits that might be needed.
Here you can see the top of the wardrobe set up. Everything on top of the wardrobe goes to the ceiling and there are no gaps. The budgies used to go up on top of the wardrobe a lot until I rearranged it.
The most they ever do is land on the cage up there but only very briefly. As it's the budgie corner, you can also see Emily's lovely artwork on the wall a picture of Jimmy and Jay.
There's also some bird photography I have done (and a fish, but you can't see it).
Oh, and the scarf hanging down is where the budgie food and bits are. They also have a drawer on that unit too.
Here concludes tour budgie.
