Default Blue & Bucky (Ongoing Thread)

Huzzah! Finally managing to make this thread now that I've once again sunk into the budgie craze. Have to say I am SUPER proud of my hand raised Bucky child. We had a scare with a crop infection but everything is fine and dandy . I bought Blue as a hand tame budgie, but his wings have been cropped all the way back, like there was no sign of flight feathers even having been there. They are growing back very, very slowly, but he is young and hasn't had his first molt yet so hopefully they'll come good.

This is supposed to be a picture thread so here is the first of many!

Now, to add he is WAY pinker than that. Seriously, he is absolutely the brightest pink you have ever seen. As a single factor violet, clearwing texas clear body, he actually doesn't have any colour save for a really faded area between his wings.

He loves to rub himself on the pink calcium perch. All over including his back and wings and face.

Thus, we have the creation of the pink budgie! I think it's adorable but my family thinks he looks ridiculous.

I'll definitely get up more photos of his shenanigans!

It's great to see Bucky and I'm glad your little one is now back to full health!

When you say he is pinker in colour, do you mean your Bucky's cere?
I'm asking this because from that photo I'm seeing the typical colours on a young female budgie.

I agree with aluz -- Bucky looks like a female rather than a male.

How cute that she rubs herself all over the pink mineral block to make herself PINK!! Maybe she's decided that is her favorite color and has chosen to make it her "signature" look.
