Default Our New Wonky Addition

Here is our handsome, albeit lop sided, belter of a bird, Harris/Harrison!! (We can't decide which name to go with) I've posted about him in the health section but he's settled in great so far. Isn't he gorgeous?!

For some reason it keeps uploading the photo sideways!

Kirsty,

When you upload pictures as thumbnail attachments directly from your computer, tablet or phone, the forum automatically defaults to landscape.

To upload full-sized pictures with the proper orientation, please use a photo-sharing service such as PhotoBucket and follow the steps in these instructions:
https://talkbudgies.com/how-guides/17...otobucket.html

Examples Of Pictures To Post And Not Post - Talk Budgies Forums
https://talkbudgies.com/mutations-gen...tion-help.html

By the way, all photos entered in any of our forum contests must be a full-size photo and not a thumbnail attachment so it's good to know how to upload them!

I hope the Avian Vet is able to determine the cause of Harrison's "star-gazing" and that it will be totally corrected with the proper treatment.

He is indeed a very beautiful fellow and I'm so glad you've adopted him and will be giving him a safe, happy, healthy loving forever home.

Karma is being sent to you and Harrison.

Since you haven't been on the forum for awhile and there have been quite a few changes in the last few years, please take the time to read through all of the How To Guides, the FAQs and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.

You'll find most of your basic questions about budgies and caring for them will have been answered after you've read through all of them.

He is so unusual, he just has random patches of grey, or black stripes. I love it! And he's so happy to pose for a photo, he knows how good looking he is

Kristy, back to the forums!

It's so touching to hear how you adopted your new little on Harrison

I can see he's going to be very well cared for and very happy as well, no matter what the outcome of his condition is.

I can't wait to hear more about him!

Cheers!

Congratulations on your latest arrival, little Harrison is a cutie!
I hope you will soon have answers for his condition and that with treatment you will be seeing a good improvement.

About Harrison's age, given the fact he is a grey recessive pied budgie, (recessive pied males will keep the immature pinkish/purplish colour on the cere and there is no iris development) and he seems to have gone through his first moult (no barring left on forehead area), this makes it very difficult to give an accurate estimate on age.
While he does seem rather small in size and his body doesn't appear to be fuller for an adult, this doesn't mean he hasn't reached adulthood.
The overall size will mostly depend on Harrison's family heritage and on the diet he had as a growing chick.
