Some of you may have followed my aviary renovations over in the Housing forum. Long story short, I rebuilt my aviary. Went out today to get shots of the happy fids enjoying their new home; here they are!
Mo, who I think is still recovering from spending two weeks cooped up in a cage with a bunch of squabbling girls!
The quiet ones of the bunch, Penny and Snowy. They tend to keep to themselves and have claimed the perch at the top of the roof pitch as their own.
Loner Simon finally got himself a girlfriend in Song! They're so cute together - she's such a cougar; at least twice his age!
Peanut and Simon. They have a close friendship apparently, seeing as Peanut was feeding him...
Peanut and Simon again.
JJ taste testing the rocket I was offering today. He wasn't keen; he had a mouthful, shook his head ferociously and flew away.
JJ and his longtime girlfriend, Jules.
Jimmette hanging out.
My handsome Charlie.
Charlie pretending to be a pompom.
Gidget and Sora trying to find more leaves to kill.
Song. She sat quietly above me for the majority of the time I was in the aviary. She's the old matriarch and is the last of my original budgies. That puts her at at least 6 years old.
Pie and PJ. PJ only recently earned her name - she reminds me so much of my late Puddleduck, right down to her choice in boyfriends.
Spang. A very basic name; I was never supposed to have kept her and her sister so never gave them 'proper' names.
Tommy and Cinny. Cinny is Spangs sister, hence the name.
JJ and Jules.
Handsome Simon. I can't believe it took so long for him to find a girlfriend.
Pie, the cute little thing that he is.
And Song again. She was very curious about the big black thing in my hands. I'm thinking about setting my camera up in the aviary on a tripod and control it remotely from outside the aviary. Curious to see if she'd go down to investigate.
