Anyone who follows my 'Therm's Flock' post will know that I had the budgies move out for a bit while I did a little painting by the window. Well, that's all done and the birds moved back in.
But then I decided I wanted to reorganise a few other things in the room. I got some new curtains which are not blackout curtains (scary when you share a room with eight budgies). I was worried that the birds would get up ultra early and start chirping- thankfully, they have been as good as usual. I can hear them get up and eat at about 7.30am, which is when I usually get up for work anyway (I'm off on holiday right now) and then they just sit content until I get up. I have the best birds!
I also changed the shower curtains as I was able to get some white ones and I am a lot happier with these.
So the layout now has two cages on the left, one in the middle and the large cage on the right. On top of the middle cage there's some rosemary, bamboo, and some perches, one bridging the gap between the two end cages.
You may also remember that I had high shelves in my room. I still have them but I have reorganised them too. I removed all the owl ornaments from the shelves and only have DVD's on these shelves now except for the shelves over the budgies cages which have been left empty for the budgies to run about on.
I LOVE the sound of little budgie feet when they run about and this gives them a lovely area where they are able to get that extra exercise.
Therm, I just love your flock's setup! I want to put in some shelves by or above my cages, but I don't think I'd be able to reach them, , since I'm only about 5'2", haha. I also love the idea to put a pot with rosemary on their cages to chew on, that is too cool! I really need to reconfigure my flock's cages, I think I may do that this week sometime. Anyway, great setup!
Thank you for my wonderful signature Deb!!!

I have to get the step ladder out to reach the shelves to clean them whenever they are done with being out but besides from that, it's not too troublesome.
My birds love the rosemary and I tend to buy a couple of plants at the same time and I alternate them being in two cages and then switch them the next day to the other two. They don't tend to last more than a week though, lol!
We have a spider plant downstairs that we are getting the younger plants from to grow them as another budgie safe plant to move up here eventually. And I'm also planing to plant for rosemary to grow indoors.
Julie, what can I say- the birds demand it of me. I had two days at the end of the week, my last two days of my holiday and I've just been cleaning the heck out of everything. I'm exhausted right now and am looking forward to being able to jump in the bath once I've done my dogs injection! But everything looks *SO* nice and I'm happy with the results.
