I would not recommend getting vitamin drops.
Generally, if a budgie is eating a varied and healthy diet; pellets, high quality seed mix and vegetables then additional vitamins are not necessary and may even be detrimental.
You can use ACV in his water as a natural pro-biotic which is good for all birds.
Thank you FaeryBee! Bubs gets a good seed mix but lots of attempts with different veg in different ways but no luck. So I thought maybe try vitamin drops. He has alot of life in him and want to keep him that way! Nat/Bubs.
If you should decide to put vitamins in the water make sure that you wash the water container very well at least daily as when you put vitamins in the water it is a magnet for bacterial growth. There are some vitamins that are in powdered form that you can sprinkle on the food if you so choose.
It's Friday and the weekend ahead! Bubs has just been out, had a good fly around, been a chatterbox and ready for an Avian Vet visit, tomorrow! Enjoy the afternoon/evening!
Bubs is a 'Happy Chap' and talks non-stop. It is hard to video him when he is out as he flies straight to my phone. I saw Lyn had taught Indigo 'Peek-A-Boo so decided to try it with Bubs. I've only said it since Saturday and he is now saying it. In the video he says clever boy, kiss (with action), love you, peek a boo. He says gorgeous boy, hello mummy, daddy, budgie, how are you, good morning, Bubsy, Bubsilicious and mimics my laugh. Very proud of what he has achieved. So lucky to have a happy, lively and entertaining budgie.
When I introduced pellets to my budgie, my Avian Vet recommended using Harrison's High Potency Mash and sprinkling it on the budgie's seed mix every day. This way, when the budgie hulls the seed it tastes the pellet mash and ingests bits of it as well. This helps the budgie identify the taste as a food source.
The mash will have nutrients in it that Bubs may not be getting in his seed mix.
Generally, the easiest thing to do is a quick on-line search to see if a product is available in your country.
In this case, I simply checked Amazon.com.uk
