Default DiscoBeats, Fluff, Tweet and Chipper (Ongoing Thread)

Hello!

I got three budgies. I bought two together from the pet store, Fluff and Tweet, and sort of bought/rescued DiscoBeats. He looked small and scared and was hiding in the corner of a very overpopulated cage.

Thank you!

Is it possible Tweet (the green one) is a boy? I always thought she was, well, a she. But Tweet is still a baby, I guess. ~3-4 months old.

Yes, Tweet is a boy Actually, the other two, Disco and Fluff, are both older than 3-4 months and therefore have developed the adult male colouring of their cere. Young males always have pearly pink or purplish ceres that mature into the dark blue you see on the other boys.

Young females have white ceres with pale blue that turn brown when they are older and in breeding condition

They are very cute and the green one is still young, it's probably scared too. They will get used to the situation.

Thank you! I'm still new at all this. Learning that Tweet is actually a boy took a weight off my shoulder. Don't have to worry about possible birdie babies then (not that anything is wrong with birdie babies, I just would have no idea what to even do!)

I knew DiscoBeats was a bit older because he already has the white around his eyes going on. He's the only one who lets me get my hands near him and will actually sit with me for a short period of time. I put my hand in with Fluff and Tweet and they just lose it. I'm trying to get them to be okay with my hand by putting it in and not moving it around for around 10 minutes once or twice a day. It's been 4 weeks though and they still flip out. Patience is key though, I know.

Default I'm turning into a proud birdie mommy

I posted some pictures yesterday of my three birds, but I wanted to share more because I'm a proud birdie mommy.

This is Tweet. Found out yesterday, from my other post, he is actually a he! He is very shy and skittish. Hates any kind of bath, but if I spray them, he sure enjoys licking it off the bars of his cage.

This is DiscoBeats. He is the tamest of the three. He steps up fine usually, but won't venture too far from his cage. Although he is willing to sit on his cage door and stare at me when I talk to him.

I don't normally keep the little playground up there if he is on it, but he wandered out while I was trying to fix something in his cage. And of course, posed nicely!

This is Fluff-fluff (or known more as just Fluff.) He is the talker of the three. He likes to sit in weird ways. He actually fell asleep like this not long after this picture was taken.

Another picture of DiscoBeats shortly after bringing him home. I did remove that grate he is standing on because his little feet kept falling through.

Another one of Fluff, ever the curious one.

And the one and only time I have ever been able to successfully hold Fluff.

Tweet and Fluff.

Tweet is very camera shy, which is why I have very few pictures of him right now. Gotta be sneaky with that one.

That's completely understandable, who wouldn't be proud to have such cuties to take care of and spend time with!

I have combined your two threads into one and added the Ongoing status so that you can continue to share the updated photos of your budgie boys here.
For detailed information on this, you can check this link: https://talkbudgies.com/budgie-pictur...e-posters.html
