I haven't been posting lately because I've been so busy with everything. It's exhausting.
Anyway, Emmy did great taking her medicine for the minor yeast infection. She's back to her normal sassy self. She has taken up the most dominant position in the flock while still remaining friends with everyone. She is also proving to be my most photogenic budgie as I entered her again into BOTM. I was hoping to get Paris in this time, but he's still not sure about the camera.
Paris and Emmy are going through their baby molt right now. Paris isn't faring as well as Emmy. He is looking pretty scruffy these days, but isn't letting it get him down. He's just as playful as ever. Paris is sort of the odd one of the bunch. He's so crazy. Gotta love him.
Piccolo is still his sweet self. He has taken quite a liking to Emmy, though, and enjoys guy talk with Paris. They're chatting together as I type. Piccolo enjoys the safety of his cage and recently got out while I was cleaning. He freaked a little and bumped into the glass door. No injuries thankfully. He has never been tamed and has never allowed me to touch or hold him, but when I picked him up off the floor after his escape a calm seemed to fall over him. I felt like he trusted me to take him back to his home.
Yazzi is the oldest and wisest of the bunch. I feel like she handed the hierarchy to Emmy because of Emmy's spunk, but they all know who the real queen of the flock is if she ever happens to want the position back.
EDIT**
I forgot to mention something exciting! If anyone remembers, I had adopted a baby budgie from a breeder, but she escaped during transition. Well, the breeder has a new clutch from the same parents and has offered me the first pick of the babies! None are exactly like the one who was lost, but they are so adorable. I'm still contemplating the idea. I would get two, one of each sex, and that would complete my flock. We'll see what happens!
I'm glad Emmy is now fully healed and your beautiful flock has been doing well.
Thanks for the update and good luck with your decision on adding (or not) to the flock!

RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
Hi everyone! So...my flock size just grew to six! I couldn't pass up the babies especially since one of the boys looks nearly identical to my first ever budgie, Lasso, who I lost three years ago. I took it as a sign that my flock has come full-circle and it was meant to be.
I don't have any pictures yet, but I'm anxiously waiting to show y'all my new babies. They've only been here five days and are still adjusting. They've already started calling across the house.
Now that the holiday rush has died down a bit I had time to get some pictures of the new babies! The camera made them anxious so I only have a few.
I have a brother and sister. They were the first two born in the clutch.
Welcome Petrie and Gracie!
Gracie is such a soft gray and yellow. The lighting was off and the camera wasn't able to pick it up on her wings, but anywhere she is supposed to be white she is a very pale yellow. The yellow mixed in with the gray wings is gorgeous.
They were stepping up for the breeder, but unfortunately the move to their new home set them back incredibly. I'm having to basically start from scratch with these two because it's like having two birds from the pet store as far as tameness goes.
They are both very skilled flyers compared to my other budgies, especially Gracie. They can hover in one place like hummingbirds. Gracie is better at it than Petrie. It's fun to watch her just float in midair. It'll be exciting to watch once they get out of cage time. They're both very playful and they are quite bonded with each other.
Quarantine is almost up and I will be moving their cage beside the other cage to introduce them to the rest of the flock.
I can't post pictures of two budgies without posting all the budgies!
Paris Photobomb!
Emmy is growing into a beautiful young lady! All evidence of her split to blue is now gone from her chest and has been replaced with a brilliant dark olive.
I still haven't ordered their new stuff yet. I wanted to wait until I built their new play gym that I designed for their out of cage time with some bamboo from my parents' yard, but so far all I have done is cut down the wood and gathered supplies. It's moving verrrry slowly.
I also discovered Emmy and Paris LOVE water so I will be purchasing a bird bath for the cage when I make the order. They loved playing in the water so much it enticed hydrophobic Yazzi and Piccolo to try it out. I can't wait to watch them all when the bath comes in.
That's about it for the update for now. All is well with the flock which always great news.
