Default Lumi, my new budgie ?

This is Lumi my first ever budgie! We had a bit of a rough start but everything seems to be going well now, currently shoulder training so that's good, Lumi is about 7 weeks old and I've had her/him for just over two, we don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet as it's just a juvenile but the breeder seems to think it's a girl, Lumi means snow in Finnish, she is not a albino, she is all white but she actually has blue eyes in the light and one tiny blue dot on her tail We're still getting to trust each other and I would love any tips or advice from more experienced budgie owners!

Lumi is very beautiful, congrats!

On my computer screen, Lumi's eyes do look to be red (But that could just be my screen!). Budgies eyes don't ever come in blue, just red or black or sometimes a dark red plum colour.

Do you have more pictures of her? We love lots of pics!

Welcome! Lumi looks like a gorgeous little girl. I suggest you remove that rope toy with the tassels as if she chews on it, it can cause impaction and her claws make awesome become entangled.

Hi there and to the forums!

You've come to a great place to learn even more about budgies!

Lumi is a beautiful girl, and she's definitely albino. In the light, her eyes should look greyish with a reddish pupil Albino budgies are blue series budgies without any markings, and sometimes they do have residual blue on them, that's normal

You've been given great advice!

Be sure to read through all of the links provided above, which include the many articles and stickies that we have here! If you have any questions after reading through everything, be sure to ask as we'd love to help.

Please keep us posted on how things go! We can't wait to see more of your beautiful snowy gal

Best wishes!

Wow everyone here is so nice! I had no idea that budgies couldn't get blue eyes! :O thank you for the info! As for more pictures I will upload some very soon, I'm actually a photographer ans I love practising self-portraiture so I plan on doing a photoshoot with Lumi and I'll upload those photos as it turns out Lumi has very good instincts as she hates the rope swing! She won't go anywhere near it so thank you for the advice, I'll take it out now and that's so cool I had no idea albinos could still have tiny bits of pigment! Thank you for letting me know all that!

In updates today Lumi has started giving me kisses! When I kiss her beak she kisses my upper lip! It's so cute! Don't worry though I already read that human saliva can be toxic so I always make sure my lips are dry I made a portable perch today so Lumi can come with me and watch tv ect and still have a place she can feel safe, she's sleeping on it next to me now, is this a good sign?
I will read through all the other posts and stuff when I get on my computer tonight, so happy to be part of this awesome family!
