Default My Budgies - Sunny Bird and Abacus

It has been too long! We started with 2 parakeets, Sunny Bird and Abacus, awhile ago. Then I saw another parakeet I just had to have, then decided the 3 needed a bigger cage which came with 2 more parakeets, and for good measure added a 6th...

We are now back to the original 2 parakeets. The sixth one I added, Checkers, none of the other parakeets liked so he was always sitting in a corner by himself. I found him a good home, but then the 5 birds were so deafeningly loud we couldn't handle it... I found 2 more a new home which then left me with 3. We unexpectedly lost Sprinkles middle of last year (he was fine when I woke them up, but came by later and Sprinkles was on the bottom disoriented and gasping, passed shortly after) so now we are back to the original 2 that we should have stuck with in the first place. Lesson learned.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've had with your flock but am glad that your original two boys are doing well

Thanks for the update, they look great

So sorry about Sprinkles. Sunny Bird and Abacus are adorable! Such healthy looking feathers and lovely tails!

Thanks for the condolences! Sprinkles was a really fun bird. He had a plastic drum toy he loved and was buried with. He would have one foot on the stick and the other on the cage, then you would see his tail wildly swinging back and forth as he tried to balance on the stick.

Hopefully Sunny Bird and Abacus will be around for awhile now! They are over due for a cage toy re-arranging though...

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s great to hear the “original” two members of the flock are happy and thriving .
