Hi there and to the forums!

You've come to the best possible place to learn about the best practices for keeping budgies!

Your little budgies are beautiful The one on the right is a female, and she is a sky blue opaline budgie (however, photos showing her wing markings would be helpful to confirm!). The one on the left is a cobalt yellowface single factor dominant pied little boy

Be sure also to read through the forum's many budgie articles and "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subforum for easy reference). You'll find all you need to know about budgies within! If you have any questions after reading though everything, be sure to ask as we'd love to help!

We hope to see you around the forums!

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Your budgies are adorable!
As you have a mixed gender pair, please be sure you do everything necessary to discourage breeding.

A Heartfelt Plea to All Members
Guidance regarding Breeding Advice Threads

Rearranging their cage frequently, and limiting the light they get to 8 hours a day will help tremendously. Please be sure you never put a nest box or anything that could be used as a nesting site in their cage.

When they come into condition, limit the amount of protein in their diet at that time.

Please take the time to read through the Site Guidelines, all of the How To Guides, the FAQs, the Budgie Articles and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.

Truly, the very BEST advice anyone can offer you is to take the time to read ALL of the stickies throughout the various Talk Budgie forums as well as the Budgie Articles we have posted.

These are great resources for Talk Budgie members and have a wealth of reliable information which will assist you to learn the best practices in caring for your budgies for their optimal health and well-being.

Thank you very much for such a detailed response. I have done some research about breeding and how to prevent it for now as I'd love to breed them in the future. I'll be sure to do extensive research when I do. I'll have a read of all of the information you just shared. Thanks again! Liv 🙂

You've been given some great additional advice and resources. Be sure to read through them all! Breeding budgies is a big decision and requires a huge amount of resources and research. Luckily, you have plenty of time and resources to start researching for the future

By the way, your blue girl is opaline sky blue and spangle

I can't wait to see more of your little ones around here!
