Nala is one of my first budgies. She is in isolation at the moment, because she had a dirty vent, and she's on antibiotics for it. But she's clearly feeling MUCH better!
I put a homemade toy in the cage with her, a cardboard box that I sliced here and there and that has a lot of seeds, paper, cardboard, etc... in it, and hung it with a rope from the cage. And it's clearly extremely popular with Nala! She loves it so much, she's been playing with it ALL day - destroying, attacking, climbing in and out of it, anything she can think of!!
I took this video earlier - but she's STILL going at it as I write this! I had to tape it through the bars since she has to remained isolated and can't go to the other birds until she's completely cured, but from the looks of it, she'll be Juuuuuust Fine.
Reminds me of a little kid at Christmas. You could have paid a million dollars for the toy and the kid will play with the box.
That sort of sums up how both my fids, my cids (cat kids) and my niece seem to react to anything I purchase for them. Throw the toy away and go "whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" with the box it came in. Typical!
Proud mom to (in order): Louis, Nala, Sarabi, Karel (RIP), Suske, Timo, Kira, Lizzie, Mickey, Flippy and Kitty.
