Default Sweet Budgies never leave each others side

Loki is missing a chunk of feathers I believe from Queikden trying to climb up on him. I think she grabs at that spot.

Anyways this is a video of them trying to decide if to fly off or not

My baby boy started calling out as soon as the video started.
This video has put my mind at ease so much! My baby budgie is erratic all the time like that, and likes to go close to my older budgie, and he usually opens his mouth like yours does, and I'm so scared he'll try and peck the baby's eye out!

I guess it's just a budgie thing?

Really gorgeous birds!

you mean the kissing? yes budgies are very much " in your face" with any budgie they like. these two are a "couple" Its normal for them to get real up close and personal with one another. they open their mouths and share food.

They will often do that half mouth open half peck thing also if the other budgie is too close and they want their space. She is head of the pecking order and she will often open her mouth like that and make a kind of clicking noise to let the other budgies to step away esp at night when everyone wants the same perch.

Yeah, the thing that she does at 0:20. My older one does that to my younger one, when he is doing exactly what your boy is doing, and I've always been a little afraid that my older one would do that as a sign of aggression or being like 'I'm going to peck your eye out!'

Though he shares food with the younger one, regurgitates to him and now even preens him!
