So what do you do on a Friday night? Apart from be on TB that is. I am very happily sitting here in my P.J's on the recliner, Budget is in his cage Hubby has gone up the road to the tavern for a quiet drink and I couldn't be happier!!!! Friday night is FFYN in our house that is Fend For yourself night as far as food goes.
Oh did I mention I have a nice glass of red wine by the chair as well
Well I had a lovely ice cold beer this afternoon that a friend brought round. Really great on such a stinking hot day. Got to about 40C today and very smokey from all the fires burning. Cooked Corned Beef for dinner and pigged out on it. Layng comfortably on the lounge with the air cooler going full speed. Just had a cup of coffee and taken a sleeping tablet. Now catching up on TB before going to bed.
Friday night in our house isn't actually spent at our house. We go around to my parents place for dinner. Jai loves it because he gets to have a big bubble bath. Hubby and I love it cause we get to relax and have a beer. Oh and of course we catch up with my folks
I was meant to be working tonight, but there was a rota mix up, again lol, so I got a phone call at 8am (when I was trying to have a lay in after some VERY early mornings of course 4.30am!!) saying I didn't have to go in, so yay! tonight my other half is out for a bit, and I'm chilling on TB, reading articles online about my fav subjects! (science and UFOS lol!) and when my other half gets in we are getting take out, just because we fancy a big ol' munch budgies are out atm up to their usual antics, I let Skylar out for a bit, he has pinched all their food he can, eaten some kale and now has Nemo following him around, that poor bird is so lovely everyone follows him! Nemo was one of the ones he took under his wing as a baby, I guess Nemo his missed his dear pal, won't be long and they will be back together! also gave Serena her first dose of her new meds this evening, plus a little liquid calcium as she is off her cuttlebone, she wasn't happy so quickly tubed it in, found that is much better for her, much less traumatic for sure! so fingers crossed for her shes such a pretty girl, just need her well!
So yeah I'm reading, chilling, watching my crazy birdy friends and relieved I have a day off, 8 days in a row at work, all mixed shifts, would have been a bit too much anyway!
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift
I love when I get to come home and just do NOTHING on Friday. Today is that kind of day. I had the craziest week at work, but I did end up achieving my goal, even though I worked myself half to death! Seriously, I have a cold now, my throat and ear are just aching.
Right now I'm in my kitchen on my computer, next to the birds. They're eating up the romaine lettuce I just gave them. I'm having a... herbal refreshment (tea, that is! ), listening to the radio. The birds love it too!
I wish I could feel the excitement that others feel for Friday night but hubby works late nights on Friday so I'm here alone with the kids, 4 under 10 years. When they go to bed I run around cleaning and tending to the pets like a chicken with my head cut off and then slump exhausted into my chair for some TB and catch ups with friends on facebook. Then maybe a cup of spicy herbal tea and few episodes of the latest TV series until I usually fall asleep on the couch waiting for hubby to get home at 2 am. Saturday nights are the same!
