Depending on where you're from
Or what customs you and yours follow
There may be many things that all of you will do on November 24th.
However, one thing is important for all of us to know
Even if Thanksgiving isn't a holiday you celebrate.
Being thankful is a privilege, for it means that we have something that others may not, something we are fortunate to have or take part of.
So near or far, I ask every member on Talk Budgies to think to themselves today about one thing that you are thankful for.
It could be your little budgie friends, or other pets around you.
It may be your family and the joy that then surrounds you.
It could be your home, your hearth, your nation's flag, this planet's earth.
It may be something very small, or something celestial in size.
There is no limit to our thanks, and there should never be. There are no rules for what you're allowed to be thankful for.
So although it may not be Thanksgiving for you, it is always worth it to see precisely what we have in life that we can cherish and love.
I hope that you can find some time to do so this autumn season.
May happiness grace you all and fill your days with joy.
I personally can say that I am thankful for that as small as a warm cup of tea in the mornings to the love of my family and friends. I am ever grateful that my dearest budgie Mallorn has given me her trust and love all the years she has been in my life. I am thankful for these forums, which are such a sanctuary of learning and community. I am thankful for each day that I accomplish, even if it seems mundane. I value the sun, the clouds, and rain that soothes parched earth, much like words that soothe parched minds.
Above all, I am thankful for life, for each day is a privilege and an opportunity.
Thank you all, and have a very happy Thanksgiving, whether in your home or in your hearts.
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Gigi. That was thought provoking and beautifully written. Over the years during the course of life, I have learned to be thankful for the smallest things that many people take for granted. To be able to have my (much needed) 2 mugs of coffee each and every morning, and have enough food to eat, is something I'm definitely thankful for .
Wishing a safe and joyous holiday to all members who celebrate Thanksgiving

I am thankful that even though I'm disabled and have difficulties sometimes I still have loving people around me. I thank my fiancÚ for staying by my side and my family for supporting me through everything. I am thankful for meeting my gorgeous little boy Reggie who I've become so attached too. I'm also thankful to my gorgeous white German shepherd Marley whose now going on 7 and is still a loyal and faithful companion. Most of all I thank all of the wonderful staff on Talkbudgies for giving me wonderful advice and appreciating my journey so far as much as everyone else has. Thank you all of you.

Thank you Gigi. So beautifully expressed. For all of the tiny and all of the huge
blessings that have come my way , and especially all of the members of TB around the world I am thankful and wishing each one a safe and joyous day as we travel down the path of life. Blessings. Jo Ann
You have such a gift in your way of expressing yourself. I'm so thankful we have you as a staff member on the forums!
I wish the members of Talk Budgies much joy and many blessings today and in all the days to come.
For the coming year, I urge everyone to embrace an “Attitude of Gratitude".
According to New York Times best-selling author Lewis Howes, “Life is better if you develop an attitude of gratitude.”
An attitude of gratitude means making it a habit to express thankfulness and appreciation in all parts of your life, on a regular basis, for both the big and small things alike. As Howes puts it, “If you concentrate on what you have, you’ll always have more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough.”
Practicing the following will enrich your life as well as the lives of those around you.
Wake up every day and express to yourself what you are grateful for
Tell whoever you are with at the end of the day the 3 things you are most grateful for
Tell whoever you are with right now (significant other, friend, family member, etc.) the 3 things that you are most grateful for in this moment
Start a gratitude journal - Express gratitude in this journal every night by noting the things that you are grateful for, proud of, and excited about
Acknowledge yourself for what you have done and accomplished in the last day/week/month/year. Instead of comparing yourself to others, give yourself credit for the big and small things you have been doing!
Acknowledge other people and thank them for inspiring/helping/supporting you
Happy thanksgiving everyone, especially our U.S.A. members.
I'm thankful for the wonderful community here on TB.
I'm thankful for my many blessings, especially these; Christ's sacrifice for me, freedom of religion, my huge and loving family, my wonderful friends, role models, an education, the comforts I enjoy in a first world country, and so many other things.
Star, thanks for starting this thread. You are good with words.
Edit: Oh yeah, how could I forget?! My birdy babies of course!!
