Hi again Rosaf,

Your new budgie is a precious little girl she is so adorable

I'm not sure of get age though.

I wouldn't rush into getting a companion just yet. Let her settle for a bit.

Also, if you do decide to get another, please be sure to quarantine them in separate rooms for 6-8 weeks

So cute! It's a girl, because males have a pink cere wich turns blue over time. My girl still has that kind of cere.

You could get her a friend now however you would still need to quarantine them separately from each other for 8 weeks which as a new budgie owner could become tiring for you. Fir now I would focus on building her trust in you and take things slowly. Let her familiarise herself with her new surroundings and take things at her pace. Get to know her habits etc. and learn as much as you can about budgie health and nutrition etc.

Of course get her a friend if you feel she needs one but allow her to adjust to her new surroundings first

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your new budgie girl!

She is very young and still has some of her baby barring on the forehead area. By looking at her overall condition, I'd say she is 3 and a half months old.

If you want to give your budgie a chance of building more of a solid bond with you, it would be best to hold off on getting her a budgie friend so soon.

Thank you to all of you! i will follow your suggestions, i don't have a lot of exeperience, so i will ask you more questions in the future! i will buy a quarantine cage so when i find the budge i like i can get it. I have a big stainless steel cage too, my idea is to put the couple in there when they will be ready to stay together....I would like to breed them too....but know it is too soon for thing at that....one step at time...

I would suggest you hold off on getting a second budgie until you've had the first for at least 6 months. Get to know your bird, spend time with her and learn all about her personality. The more you learn about budgies and the best practices for their care, the better off you will be. If, after a few months you desire to get a friend for her, you can do so ensuring you follow the quarantine procedure and advice for introducing the two birds once quarantine has ended.

Best wishes!

Hi Rosa! I do agree, what a beautiful baby girl you have there!

Deborah has given you some great advice regarding a friend for her. Spend a long period of time getting to know her, etc. before even thinking of a friend

She's precious and I'm sure that in time she will settle in well!
