Gender of Peep

HI! Please help me determine if my baby is a male or female! I'm thinking it's a female but not sure.

I believe from those pictures that you have a little girl!

I agree that you have a lovely little girl. Since you have a mixed pair, it's best you do everything you can to prevent breeding. If you haven't already, have a read through this sticky.

I also noticed you have a sort of snuggle sack in the cage and on top of the cage. I suggest you remove these as they may look like appealing nesting spots to your budgies, and the fibres on the fabric can be dangerous if the budgie were to chew and ingest some.

Hi! :welcome: to Talk Budgies

Your budgies are very cute!
The budgie in question is definitely female.
Where in Indiana do you live? I'm from that state originally.

Please remove the sandpaper perch covers from the perches immediately. They are VERY bad for your budgie's feet no matter what the pet store may have told you. Sandpaper perch covers often cause pressure sores.

Additionally, you need to replace the plastic and wooden dowel perches with natural wood perches of varying diameters.
This link give examples of perches that will be much better for your budgies' feet and legs.

iHeartPieds is correct - please remove the snuggle sack. Your budgies can get their feet caught in the material and severely injure themselves. Additionally, if they ingest fabric fibers, this can lead to crop impaction.

Budgies do not need a "house", hammock or snuggle hut.
Budgies perch when they sleep.
Providing them with swings is a much better choice. ;)
