Default What gender is baby Dusty ?

I got my Daughter her first bird. And he's so sweet already. It's been great teaching her how to go slow and respect his timeline and space... anyway we were hoping that after all the research on sex identification that I got this one right, let's see what you guys think.... ready, set, go !!

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Dusty is a precious little boy.

It is not uncommon for pet store employees not to be able to tell the gender of the budgies.
Big box pet stores support birdie-mills.
Most employees of those stores have little knowledge when it comes to the best practices in the care of these fragile creatures.

Please take the time to read through the Site Guidelines, all of the How To Guides, the FAQs, the Budgie Articles and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.

Truly, the very BEST advice anyone can offer you is to take the time to read ALL of the stickies throughout the various Talk Budgie forums as well as the Budgie Articles we have posted.

These are great resources for Talk Budgie members and have a wealth of reliable information which will assist you to learn the best practices in caring for your budgies for their optimal health and well-being.

What a gorgeous boy!

I believe he's actually a grey, single factor violet, yellowface II budgie. He's not blue enough for mauve although there is some violet in him!

You and your daughter will have a lot of fun training and bonding with this handsome little guy. Budgies are a "big parrot" packed into a little body. Enjoy him. This site has the best information on the net.
