Hello, I’m new to the forum and to budgie ownership. I researched all kinds of parrots for months until I ended up considering a budgie just due to their low noise level, and happened to come across an ad for 2 free budgies near me, so I picked them up and am doing my best to make them happy—they were being kept in much less than desirable conditions. Today’s the third day we’ve had them and they look much happier in their nicer clean cage with lots of natural perches and better diet; they’re hopping around, preening each other and themselves, and taking lots of naps, so they seem much better. I am not new to birds, have a good amount of experience with greys and conures, but am new to budgies.
My question is one to be expected in this section: “what’s the gender(s) of my bird(s)?” Looks to me like the blue is a male, and the lutino a female.
Hi there and welcome. I love reading stories where budgies are taken from less than ideal living conditions and given great, loving new homes. They do look very content and will no doubt settle in very well. I look forward to reading how their story progresses and seeing more pics, if you're happy to share.
Thank you (and karma) for rescuing the little budgies and giving them a safe and loving home!
