I think they are both males, as their ceres look pink, even around the nostrils.
They are beautiful! :001_wub:
By the way, welcome to the forum! :D

I agree, they both look like handsome males. Congrats!

Out of curiosity, why do you want to get a female/two females for them?

Two male budgies can live together happily and form a close bond, especially if they grow up together (like yours). They don't necessarily need females, nor to mate and breed with them.
Some people believe that two males of the same animal species can never get along just because they are males, but that is not the case of budgies.

I have had two male budgies (one of them passed away a year ago) and they lived together for three years. While one of them was a bit bossy, they loved each other and I can guarantee you that it will be the same for Jax and Pixel. :001_smile:

Hi Mrg and :welcome: to the forums!

You've been given great advice. I would definitely recommend against getting any female budgies, as it can often cause more problems having mixed gender flocks, such as being sure to discourage breeding and being prepared for potential fighting amongst budgies. Two males are usually great friends, as mentioned above.

Meanwhile, you've come to a great place to learn about the best of budgie care practices! If you have any questions after reading through the forums' many budgie articles and "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subforum for easy reference), please be sure to ask as we'd love to help.

Hope to see you around!

I agree with the previous posts in regards to adding females, no need to do that and as has been said it may cause problems for you in several ways. Two males can form a very close bond and be quite content.
