I mixed my Roudybush nibles with the seed at 25% recently to try an minimize my workload of serving this and mixing that etc. Well the problem is I can't seem to tell if they are eating the pellets because they are so small and the same color as the seed....how are you guys able to tell?

Generally as I've found out, most little feathered babies will pick around the pellets and eat the seeds in mixtures.
However, every now and then I catch them eating pellets (when seeds are almost gone or sometimes I think they just want variety). I can tell they are eating the pellets from the distinct crunch they make
My babies also like getting fed from my hand directly to their little beaks (they are super lazy, like the laziest ever), so sometimes I give them pellets via hand feeding and again... a distinct crunch.
Unfortunately the pellet level of their food cups never goes down significantly, but I figure a few pellets a day is better than nothing.
If you are just trying out pellets, I find my boys like the canary/finch sized version rather than the budgie sized.
My little girl has just started eating pellets..after about 4 months.. I only noticed because I observed her eating both seeds and pellets from my hand. When the seeds on my hand were finished she had the pellets.
