Default Billy and his greens

We've had Billy nearly a year and in all that time I've only seen him sip water once. I give him fresh water every day. He loves cucumber, grapes and lettuce but won't eat anything else. I've tried silver beet, Brussel sprouts, parsley, apple, carrot but doesn't touch any of that. Is this normal?

First of all, make sure you are not giving your Budgie iceberg lettuce. This isn't to good for them...

Anyway, Budgies only tend to drink water in the morning and in the afternoon. It is very rarely that I see my budgie drink water as well. Your budgie is obviously drinking water because if they didn't, you would notice something odd!

Like us, Budgies also like and dislike different foods. Maybe your fluffy friend doesn't like them...

Good luck!!

If I had to pick only a few veggies, greens would be my best bet. Continue to offer him different choices, could be that it will take longer for him to try or he may never like them. Have you tried eating them with him? Monkey see monkey do type of thing...

As I said in my post we've had him for a year. He's only been out of the cage once and it took all day to get him back. I still can't get him on my finger. He's not scared because when I clean inside the cage my hand doesn't worry him. We love him to bits and he's such Character.
