Default Anise or Star Anise?

Hey everyone! I just picked up a bunch of seeds today to sprout for my babies, but I accidently also bought anise seed by mistake. Can budgies have anise seed? I know they can have star anise which smells just like anise seeds, but look completely different and belong to a different genus altogether. I checked online, but almost every site I've checked said they can have "star" anise. I'm not sure if the ones that say anise seed are just using the terms star anise and anise seed interchangeably. Do you guys know if budgies can have anise seed?

Thanks Deborah! I hope they like the sprouting mix I'm making up for them . It has millet (red, porso, spray, and white), mung beans, adzuki beans, milk thistle seed, safflower, anise, broccoli, alfalfa, radish, red clover, amaranth, fennel, canary, wheat, Niger, these little black round ones, lentils (French green and brown), flax, rape seed?, and quinoa.

I hope they'll try the different sprouted seeds. I know Ziggy loves his sprouts. He is such a good little boy! At least half of what he eats in a day are greens and sprouts. He's always so eager for his broccoli in the morning . Oh man, and when he digs into the sprouts! He gets them all over his face! It's so adorable >_<.

Alice also gobbles up sprouts, and tonight I saw her trying veggies for the first time! Ziggy is definitely having a positive influence on her .

The three amigos aren't quite as big of fans of sprouts, but at least they've started nibbling on them now.

So anyways, I'm very pleased with the variety of seeds, legumes, etc., I was able to find at the Bulk Barn and the health food store. The stuff I bought today only cost $10, and some of the stuff would have been very hard to harvest.

I can't wait to sprout them and see what my kids think <3.
